Well its October. Break out the sweaters and long johns. But also it's time for the pink. Breast cancer has effected my life in the greatest way. Five years ago, my mother passed from this horrid thing. She was beautiful in her own right, but cancer torn her down to nothing. Before she passed, I asked her to go to the hospital before things get worst. She told me to just to not worry. She was trying to provide for our family, and at that time everyone was screaming "immigration". And the risk to be deported was engrained in her mind. But she didn't see that not going to the doctor created a greater chance of her being out of commission of work. After it got worst, she finally went to the doctor, who told her that there was nothing they could do. Basically, they told her to go home so she could die. I was devastated. The picture presented is of my mother a week before she passed. It's hard to look at, I know, but this is my story. And life lessons teach us more than what's shown. It taught me that taking care of yourself is helping your surroundings. So ladies (and gents), do go get checked for breast cancer. I'm starting now.
